Former Grant Parish District Attorney Ed Tarpley says his campaign for the 5th District’s congressional seat will accelerate with Congressman Vance McAllister “out of the race.”

Tarpley, a Republican from Alexandria, filed his candidacy paperwork with the Federal Election Commission last week.
